Joining the Master Race (semi blog post)

Postby HTV » September 4th, 2014, 11:25 am

Today, a new era is ushered into the world of gaming.
Which is a fancy way to say I'm getting all the parts for my gaming PC shipped in. I ordered them on Saturday and the anticipation has been absolutely killing me. Right now, I already have the case and the processor (which I handled like an explosive baby). Until now, I have been doing all my PC gaming on a laptop with integrated graphics. I couldn't even enable anti-aliasing on TF2. It was truly the worst of times, but I still believed that, one day, I might be able to scrap up some cash and, with keyboard and mouse in hand, bask in the golden light of v-sync and 1080p+.
And now it's happening! Very excited, obviously! :D

So, anyone have any stories about what it was like to enter the PC gaming "master race?" Any tips for a first time builder?

First of all.... disable vertical sync. All that does is make it harder to kill people.

I think you need that one for long distance sniper games like bf4, otherwise everything around 1200 meters looks like its having a stroke

As opposed to point-blank sniper games like TF2 (don't even get me started).

Balloon race was fun until sticky jumper nerf.
